Dydd Sul heulog, Aberdaron - The third of this series of monochrome linocuts, created specifically for Tegfryn Gallery's 'The sea, the sea' exhibition (August 15th - August 29th, please check with the gallery which day the exhibition ends). I've probably said this before but working in just the one colour poses a very different challenge to multicolour work. There's no 'luxury' of using tone, every shape is either light, or dark and needs to be executed without awkward joins or outlines.
Aberdaron is a tiny village (the image includes the main part), located almost on the tip of the Llyn Peninsula. A place of many moods and well worth a visit, whether on a day like this, of bright sunshine or in a howling gale when the sea lashes the cliffs and beach.
