Cwyfan - Created especially for Oriel Tegfryn's 'The sea' the sea' exhibition in September 2015. Cwyfan, both the beach and the little church on the island, is a place familiar to many. 'Eglwys bach y mor' (literally translated as the little church in the sea') is cut off from the mainland at high tide, so always needs a bit of care when visiting. The main focus of this print for me was the still rockpool in the foreground. The large white area purposely acting as a balance to the clouds in the sky. The lines of poetry talk about the magic of the location at the end of the day and how the incoming blue sea creates an island which can't be bettered.
