Hirddydd haf, Castell Conwy ( Long summer's day, Conwy Castle) - Shifting viewpoint just a few yards made such a difference. In this second linocut of Conwy castle, the focus of the scene was the lengthening shadows and the evening sunlight. This second interpretation of the castle could perhaps be considered more of an illustration. The colour palette was chosen to emphasise the evening light and elements such as the clouds and trees become more symbolic than realistic.
