Pistyll Cain - I promised myself that in 2014 I would venture further afield to discover new waterfalls and Pistyll Cain was one on my to do list. I couldn't have chosen a better day - bright blue skies and a break in the heavy February rains. It didn't disappoint. Located in Coed y Brenin forest, not far from Dolgellau, Pistyll Cain is one of two falls within a stone's throw of each other. The first to come into view from the track was Rhaeadr Mawddach, impressive in itself but hiding around a bend is the magnificent, and very loud Pistyll Cain.

I wanted to work 'large and bold' for this print to try and capture the sense of awe it created in me on that particular day.
