Return to Presipe - I came across Presipe beach purely by chance in May 2016 whilst walking a stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Its rockpools and clean sands were mesmerising and I knew I'd be back at some point in the future to try and capture it in a linocut. Roll on to October and a bracing, sunny day back on the beach produced a wonderful sky with scudding clouds and equally magical reflections. I really wanted to keep the image as 'clean' as possible to reflect the recently tide-washed sands, so the aim was to work from a simple drawing and use as few colours as possible to describe the sand, the pool, the rocks and the distinctive pinkish-red band of rock on the headland. Quite unintentionally, the palette of colours is very similar to the earlier 'Silence of fallen trees, Rhaeadr Arthog'.
