Winter afternoon on Aberdesach beach - A sunny and surprisingly warm March afternoon finds me heading back to one of my favourite locations to try and capture the crispness and sharp colours of the afternoon. Standing looking towards Yr Eifl (The Rivals), my attention is grabbed by the shafts of sunshine streaking across the landscape and their effect on the colours, particularly the green fields in the middle distance. The foreground of this image became quite painterly. This was achieved by inking specific areas of the block and burnishing with different levels of pressure to pick up more (or less) ink as required.
