The artist's muse (Elf) - This was one of those poses that lasts a couple of minutes at most, so I caught as much of it as I could in a quick sketch and backed that up with a couple of photographs for reference before he trotted off to do something far more interesting than model for me. What caught my attention was the way his tabby stripes followed the curve of the spine, the tail neatly tucked around his feet and the ever alert ears, listening to noises I couldn't hear. I did a second detailed sketch before starting and then a third drawing, directly on the lino.
