Gwanwyn ddaw (spring is coming/or spring is on its way) - After capturing this narcissi in great detail last year in Half-hidden narcissi, it tempted me again, but this time I wanted to capture it in the simplest possible terms. This meant looking, and looking, and looking several more times in order to capture the characteristic shapes of the petals. I also chose to break the border of the image with the tips of the petals ... I think this gives it an element of trying to escape from the image, which I rather like. Although the flower is a very pale yellow, I chose to use the white of the paper, again, in an effort to be as concise as possible and just let the lines and the background colour (which is a very pale sage green with a touch of ochre) describe the form of the flower.
